Using TrailRelay
You are responsible for choosing a safe and lawful route, observing signs and local rules, and carrying suitable navigation and safety equipment. Do not rely on TrailRelay as your only means of navigation or emergency communication.
Location and maps
GPS, map, traffic, elevation and route information can be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. Conditions can change after a route or hazard report is recorded. Always use your judgment and turn back when conditions are unsafe.
Outdoor data sources
Offline maps: OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles and © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Weather: MET Norway (CC BY 4.0). Terrain: Mapzen elevation tiles; source attribution is linked in Elevation & grade. International emergency directory: Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0), with official numbers taking precedence where checked. Downloaded basemaps do not include weather or walking graph updates automatically.
Shared content
Only share routes, photos, names and reports you have the right to share. Do not publish a private invitation link or QR code publicly. You are responsible for people you invite to a Relay.
SOS limitation
The SOS feature alerts participating TrailRelay devices when network and system conditions allow. It does not contact police, rescue, medical or other emergency services automatically.
Acceptable use
Do not use TrailRelay to stalk, harass, deceive, trespass, expose another person's location without consent, disrupt the service or break applicable law.
Content reports
Do not share threats, abusive or sexually exploitative content, illegal material or content that violates another person's rights. Report a chat message from its menu and review the readable text before sending. You can block or unblock people in the app. Contact the publisher about harmful content or a disputed report.
Account deletion
You may permanently delete your account in Settings > Privacy & Data. Deletion removes the account and associated server records that we are not legally required to retain.
Changes
Features and these terms may change as TrailRelay develops. Material changes should be presented before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after notice means you accept the revised terms.
Your content and rights
You retain ownership of your content. Sharing allows TrailRelay to store and deliver it for the selected features. These terms do not remove consumer or privacy rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
